Design symbols, stories, and experiences for the 2042 Winter Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden.
How can we change public perception about the games themselves, while creating a more holistic Swedish Olympic experience?
Sweden is already known for their simplistic design, how can we translate that into interactive experiences to get fans more excited about the Winter Games?
Inspired by Swedish design and the concept of "lagom", we based our system on 3 principles
LAGOM: not too little, not too much
Parts of a whole
Function dictates form
symbolic of nature
Function = Form
By merging physical and virtual experiences, we designed a more informed and personalized way for everyone to watch the Olympics.
The Stockholm 2042 Olympics and NBC have partnered to provide the newest streaming service with an innovative viewing experience, accessible across all devices.
Personalize your viewing experience by creating a profile and choosing from a list of customizable widgets to be displayed on your screen.
Whether you're watching at home, a friend's house, or the local sports bar, your personalized experience is always at your fingertips.
Using AR technology, your widgets can be displayed on any screen in front of you, providing you with customized live feedback anywhere you go.
The Olympics bring in a wide variety of viewers from all over the world, so we wanted to focus on targeting the extreme ends of the spectrum in order to cater to everyone.
People care more about the Summer Olympics than they do the Winter Olympics.
A lot of people really don't knows what winter sports are and how they work.
Generate excitement and interest for the winter sports themselves.
